“Find a need and fill it,” is how Brad Cole, President, Menzies Flock Shop described his company’s business. Menzies is a producer of decorative flock for black light posters, greeting cards, point-of-purchase displays, ad agency works (such as fliers), and whatever end use the market calls for.
“We are not inventors, not innovators,” said Brad. He continued, “We are a small shop offering close personal service. Our key people have a combined 90 years of experience and ability to solve the issues that our customers bring us.”
Founded 34 years ago by Homer Menzies, a 10th-grade drop out who went on to be a United States Army Air Corps pilot and, later, entrepreneur, the shop produces graphic flock and glitter coating. The company got its start when the Assemblies of God approached Menzies about producing Sunday school materials. It was a project especially dear to Mr. Menzies, who turned to Dave Honkamp of Cellusuede Products and Paul Rossomme of Engineering and Industrial Services for help in setting up for production. After a good two decade run that business dried up and the company switched over to its current lines of decorate sheet-fed flocked products. Menzies, who died in 2007, is still honored with a memorial on the company website.
“I have worked with Menzies for over eight years and they have not only done an amazing job at helping us with our flocking needs but also have gone above and beyond to make sure that our products are the best quality,” wrote one customer in one of the many testimonials on the company website.
The company has automated pile fed screen presses with sheet size capabilities from 6″ x 7″ up to 28″ x 40″ and handfed capability up to 56″ x 40″.
Since 1980 Menzies Flock Shop has helped its customers “Stand Out With Flock and Glitter.”
Menzies has been a member of the American Flock Association since 2001.
