21th Annual Meeting of the American Flock Association

October 12-13, 2006, Mohegan Sun Resort in Uncasville, Conn.

After an informal cocktail reception Thursday evening, October 12, on Friday October 13, 2006, the Association conducted a one-day Business Meeting with a number of very informative presentations, including:

• AUTOMOTIVE:

  • The State of Fiber-coating in the US Market, Dave Honkamp, Cellusuede Products.

  • Introducting New Products to Detroit, Stephanie Rodgers, Automotive Textile Solutions, Inc.

• HEALTH AND SAFETY:

  • Update on Respiratory Health and Safety Issues, Chris Piacitelli and Rachel Bailey, NIOSH Flocking Health Team

• GOVERNMENT TEXTILES:

  • Opportunities for Textiles for the United States Government, Dan Pezold, Duro Textiles, LLC, Chairman of the National Textile Association Government Textiles Committee.

• UPHOLSTERY TEXTILES:

  • -First Review of the Developing “Green” Standards for Contract and Residential Upholstery, Hardy Poole, Director of Regulatory and Technical Affairs, National Textile Association.

The attendees then enjoyed a networking luncheon and concluded with the 21st Annual membership Meeting in the afternoon.
